They had a lovely house in Kolding and two lovely children, at that time Jacob 8 years – Amalie 12 years (now 27 and 31 years respectively) who went to school and were good, mother and father were proud. They went camping trips on the weekends, everything was as it should be in a real family.
40 years .. What about the rest of life?
Our birthday, became the turning point in our lives, we could see ourselves until retirement, just more gray-haired and wrinkled, something new had to happen.
We decided to realize our dream of buying a campsite, a new lifestyle with the family in focus. Our house in Kolding was quickly sold, we looked at several campsites in Northern Jutland, but Asaa Camping & Hytteferie became our choice. The location by the forest and beach in nature conservation area and close to school and shopping, appealed to our whole nature-loving family.

How has it been going as the owner of Asaa Camping & Hytteferie?
We took over Asaa camping & cabin holiday on March 1, 2006. The site was very worn and needed a loving hand. Our first year was exciting, very challenging and not least learning rich. We got cleaned up, renovated some and made a lot of mistakes. We had many plans / ideas and dreams with the campsite, but since there is a big difference between owning a campsite and being a guest of our own, we had to give up some of our ideas, but we have even more realized.
We are very happy for our lives as campsite owners. We meet a lot of nice and holiday-happy adults and children. We decide for ourselves, our work takes place very much outdoors, and it’s really nice as a family, together to create growth and holiday joy for other people.
Our visions for the future
Since 2006 we have grown from 7 to 85 season guests. We’ve doubled our overnight stays for tourists, and our goal of developing the campsite is in full swing. We can also thank our season guests for this development, as they have made a great contribution to the positive awareness of the campsite and have also participated heavily in our work weekends. Our season guests are also highly praised by the tourists, as they always take good care of the Asaa Camping guests.
We still have many plans for the campsite, we will continue to improve the campsite, but still as a 3-star campsite, where we are responsible for the operation of the campsite and that our whole family is happy and working here.
Our goal is to maintain the good atmosphere of the campsite and that as a host couple we welcome our guests on arrival and say goodbye to our guests. We will continue to be very visible at the campsite. We want our guests to feel welcome and have a positive experience from Asaa Camping and us.
